"Trial of Bill Campbell-Ex-Mayor of Atlanta"

Brooks testified that on a trip to San Francisco, Campbell used cash to buy her a $2,500 coat. She also testified that Campbell met her in Paris, and that for several days, Campbell paid for her expenses with cash, and even bought her gifts, including two paintings.

Bill Campbell, ex mayor of Atlanta is on trial for taking bribes. Above is his ex girl friend, Marion Brooks, an anchor at the time with WSB news, with whom he had a 4 year affair. They jetted to Paris and Las Vegas among other places, where Bill lavishly spent money. On a mayor's salary the scenario is an oxymoron.

Bill always paid cash for all of the tabs. No paper trail, eh? Someone in the AJC [ Atlanta fishwrap ] vent wondered if Bill was paying his many lawyers via the green stuff.

Bill maintains his innocence, and tho this is hard for you, the reader, to believe, but Bill has invoked the "race card." They're only attempting to besmirch his integrity because he's black.

The following article is a Q & A on the latest from the trial.
